Dear future host family,

I would like to introduce myself to you briefly and say thank you for the fact that we will soon experience time together and also significant moments!

My name is Alexandra and I live in Germany with my parents and my two cats, who are like brothers to me.

My everyday life starts with going to school. I’m always happy because I can spend time with my friends. It also has to be said that I generally put a lot of effort when it comes to school so that I can be proud of myself and my grades in the end.

Now I would like to pay attention to my hobbies.

I take part in a dancing school, which I go to three times a week. There are different types of dance, such as modern or ballet. We’ve been on many competitions and this year we even won second place.

In my free time I also read a lot of books, actually more in English than in German! When I find myself wanting to move, I go out and walk around and my headphones must not be missing . I also play an instrument, the piano. but I don’t play it that long so it means I’m not that good.

In addition, I have a large family from my mother and father who live all over Poland. I like to travel there alone during the holidays and I started when I was 13.

Additionally, I also produce small videos and edit them as well. Mostly for school or just videos from vacation for myself. My father does this as well, so it ´s like a sharing hobby!

One of my favourite thing in my free time is using makeup! I don ´t use it to cover something, it ´s just like art for me and I like to try new things out.

You probably already have some questions for me and I can answer one of them. Why do I even want to do a year abroad?

When I was little, my mother inspired me to do this. Furthermore, it is important to my parents that I have a good command of the English language. When I started watching American films and series, I noticed that the school system is totally different. High school is what I look forward to the most! Because in my school, there are only these typical and academic subjects. My favourite ones are art and French. Unfortunately, we don’t have these fun subjects like you ?

So instead of just watching it on Netflix while lying on the bed, I figured I could just experience it for myself.

Moreover, you have to know that I am a really organized and extrovert person. I see both as my strengths! However, I can be a bit shy at the beginning, so don ´t be surprised. But if we get to know each other a little bit, I think, it won´t be a big problem. ?
