Hello, my name is Bárbara. And although I was born in my city and I have always lived here, my father’s family is from the north west of Spain so I spend some time there too.
I personally consider myself a positive, sociable and responsible person.
Since forever I would like to see up close other cultures and improve my English. For that reason,I believe that studying abroad might be an amazing experience, that I would like to live. So when my parents told me about this opportunity I did not think it twice. After that, I started thinking about how it would be living there and I realised that there was nothing to be worried about. Maybe at the beginning everything will be different and new to me but I am sure I will love it.
I have never spent so much time abroad. But last July, I went to a summer camp in Asturias (in Spain) for half month with friends and I have travel to other countries as London, Los Angeles, Miami, Dominican Republic, Australia and some countries in Europe.
My family is very important for me. My father works in computers and my mother works in her family company. Also, I have one small sister, she is seven years old and we go to the same school. We all live together in a house close to our school.
I really love my school, I have many friends there and we have lot of fun. The school is quite big, although it is not religious we have the chance to choose religion classes and I am taking them. We change our home so I have been studying there since I was 9. At school I usually get good grades (as A), especially at biology and maths which are my favourites subjects.
Everyday I wake up at 8 a.m, I get ready and have breakfast with my sister. After that, my mother drive us to the school, that starts at 9. It only takes 10 minutes from our home. In the afternoon I came back home alone by bus and then I do my homework.
On my free time, I really enjoy meeting my friends and having fun with them. I like painting, listening into music, photography and above everything, traveling. I also like hiking, swimming and padel-tennis.
During the weekends I usually split my time between my friends and my family. We usually get all together with my grandparents, uncles and cousins to have lunch.
I’m very excited to have the opportunity of living in a US family. I’m very pleased to spend time with your family and I am sure the exchange it is going to be very comfortable for both.
Many thanks for giving me the chance to live with you!
