LETTER FROM Estefanía

Estefanía

My name is Estefanía. I live in a town in Spain. People say I’m funny, friendly and a perfectionist. I like to study and get great grades in school.

I have been playing golf for five years, but I’m still learning and not competing. I enjoy every Saturday attending golf classes in the club which we belong to together with my friends. I also attend dance lessons (funky and hip-hop). In my free time I like to listen to music, watch films or T.V. and hang out with my friends.

My favourite song is Billie Jean from Michael Jackson and I don’t have any favourite film because I like lots of them, especially fiction and romantic films.

I live with my parents and sister. When I’m with my family I like to play board games, go on excursions, or go shopping. I have an excellent relationship with my sister. I also have an almost perfect relationship with my parents. From my point of view I’m a good child for my age and my parents aren’t very strict, but they are fully involved in my life. I love them both.

I like to to on trips with my family. We have visited Paris several times, New York and Amsterdam and also many of the Spanish cities and islands.

I have two little dogs. They are sweet and lovely. I love pets indeed.

I think that I am a sociable person and I have lots of friends outside of and inside high school. I make friends easily, and I like to meet new people. I try to meet my friends on Friday and Saturday evening. We just enjoy talking and playing together. Sometimes we go to the cinema as well, or just stay at a friend’s home to watch a film.

I’ve been twice in Ireland during summer to learn English and also made two trips to France with a student exchange program.

My family is very important to me and my friends are as well. I’m sure I’m going to miss them all during my stay in the U.S.A.

Talking about food, I really like meat, I can tolerate fish. It is not that I don’t like it, but rather that I don’t love it. My favourite dish is the valencian paella which my father is an excellent cook of. I also like pasta, especially lasagña or canneloni. I also like chicken with curry sauce, and another dish cooked by my father, which is bull tail.

I’m very excited about going to the U.S.A. to share this experience meeting new people and learning all about America’s culture.

Thank you for making this year possible and for hosting me!
