| Dear host family, I am really happy to have the opportunity to spend a year abroad with you and would like to thank you in advance for taking me in. For many years it has been my big dream to spend a year with a family in the USA. I’m interested in your culture, how you live, what the country is like, your schools and language and basically everything that has to do with the USA. I am very excited to have this unique experience. I hope to find a family that I will hold in my heart and they will show me their whole life and let me share it. I can show them a piece of my homeland; for example, I love cooking and I also enjoy spending time with my family. I love trips and traveling. I love trying everything out. Above all, I enjoy sports such as athletics, tennis, horse riding, jogging, fitness and skiing. But I am also very open to all sports and all activities. It would also be a great wish to be able to see a football game live, for example. I live equally with my father and mother, who are separated but still have a very loving relationship with each other, even with their new partners. My parents are very loving and we have a very close and good relationship with each other. I can always come to them with any concerns and they are always there for me. Then my dog Billy lives with me, which I love very much. I am an open person who likes to be around other people, but I also love to be by myself sometimes. I am happy and love my life. Nothing can upset me easily. I have a very close circle of friends, some of them since I was born. I love spending time with my friends, playing sports, shopping, cooking or having game nights. But I also like to do all of this with my family. I am so excited to be able to tell and show you a lot about me and my life in Germany. I actually really enjoy going to school, a lot of my friends are there too and we enjoy learning together. My favorite subjects are physical education, theater classes and art classes. But I also enjoy all the other subjects except perhaps chemistry and physics. Through Corona, I also learned to organize my school day completely on my own when it comes to studying for work and doing my homework. I’m really excited about everything that awaits me and can’t wait to finally meet you. I’m really looking forward to seeing you and I’m very excited! Your Greta |
