Hi family,

I’m Irene, I’m 14 years old. I live with my parents and my elder brother. My mum is a lawyer, my dad is a police officer and my brother studies at the university. I have a dog named Kira, it´s a white Labrador and it´s very affectionate. I love spending time with my family; we usually watch TV together, go to restaurants or go for a walk with the dog. I go shopping with my mum and I love it, because she is like my personal shopper and she helps me with clothes and, basically with everything. I spend time with my dad going to the supermarket, staying at home watching TV and specially, cooking together. My relationship with all of them is very good, sometimes I argue with my brother, but we love each other very much.

I´m open minded, generous, funny and I love spending my time with friends and family and meeting people. At the beginning I seem shy but I’m really sociable and I love making friends.

I like painting and practicing sports, like basketball, running, paddle and I love animals, particularly dogs and lovely domestic cats. I also like listening to music and singers as Myke towers, Bad Bunny and Olivia Rodrigo. But what I like the most is cooking, it helps me to get relax and be creative, all my friends and family say that I´m very good at it, so I hope it´s true.

I live in a 350000 habitants city in Spain, in a house with a garden and a small swimming pool. I´ve always lived here but I´ve travelled a lot and I love meeting people from other cultures and countries and discovering new places. I don’t really know why, but I’ve always been attracted by the United States. I admire the culture, the diversity of people, and the richness of the costumes and it´s geography. I want to take part of your family to learn about you and about your living stiles which I admire and have the opportunity to discover your country with you. I will also share with you my customs and the Spanish cooking, which is really nice. I like making Spanish omelet, paella and other different dishes.

Actually, I’m in 10º grade. My favourite subjects are English, History, Spanish and Biology. I´ve always been in the same high school. In the future I still don’t have a clear idea about what I would like to be. Nowadays I´m thinking about becoming a police officer, an interiors designer or something creative. I like very much everything about make up, mode and styling and I think I would also like to be a model but my parents don´t like it so much.

My friends and I go all to the same high school and I’m in class with three of them. We go out all Fridays or Saturdays. We love going to have dinner, going shopping and going to parties and concerts together.

During the week I wake up at 7:00 am more or less and then I go to school. At 8:20 I start my classes, at 2:00 pm I go back home and in the afternoon, depending on the day, I go to a maths academy or to an English academy and after that I study, go to the gym or I stay resting at home with my family. In the evening I have a shower, I have dinner and I watch TV. At weekends I wake up at 10:00 am or at 8:00 am on Sundays because I practice horse riding, which I love. When I go back home I do my homework and I spend time with my family doing different activities. Later I help my parents to prepare lunch, cooking and getting everything ready. In the afternoon, if I have exams I study, but if I don’t, I hang out with my friends and when I get back home I watch TV with my parents.

I also like visiting my grandparents. Both, my maternal and paternal grandparents, live very close to my house and I see them very often. We also spend together Christmas time in family in our town.

I want to spend a year in the United States because I love travelling, trying new things, learning about different cultures; I want to improve my English too and of course meeting new people. I have had an experience about going abroad with a host family because last summer I’ve been living with a host family in Canada for a month. I went alone, but I met a lot of friends there, as we had a lot of classes and programmed activities with the organization I didn’t have much time to know the host family but it was amazing.

I help my parents with the home chores whenever I can, either by sweeping, cooking, making my bed, washing dishes, gardening or any other tasks.

I go on holidays every year with my family; my favourite places are Dublin, New York and Cuba. I´ve been twice in Dublin, once this summer and another one several years ago. When I went to New York I was very young, 10 years old but I liked it very much.

I hope this letter helps you to know a bit about myself. I´m willing to meet you and spend all this time together knowing each other and having fun.
