Countless thanks for harbouring and percepting me, it was a tough decision I guess.
A brief insight according to me: I´m a high school student in a city in Germany. I love to make lots of sports, especially playing soccer and golf.
The reasons why I want to make an exchange year and why the country should be the USA are, that I always loved travelling and exploring new countries. Last year I was sailing on a boat with my family for instance. There we had a skipper on board and we just talked English together. After a bit I realized, that I`m getting more and more confident speaking English.
This moment was some kind of life changing. I began to think about possibilities to encourage my personal development. Consequently I thought it could be a great opportunity to make an exchange year. And which country is better than the USA?
Now I want to introduce myself a bit more detailed: I´m living in a large patchwork family, because my parents are separated. Beneath two brothers and one sister, I also have four stepbrothers and one stepsister. That´s why I love to be among people and I am open-minded, which let`s me be curious and interested in all different ways of view.
For 4 years I go to a high school. My grades are good and I like to study. My favourite subjects are English, physical education, geography and history. At school I have some great friends. I like my school very much.
After a school day I use to go home and do my homework. I don´t have so much time for this, because my soccer training is three times a week. Playing soccer is my greatest hobby. I enjoy that my friends are playing in the same team. Also I enjoy watching American sports like American football or basketball on TV.
I have a good relationship with my parents. They are very nice and tolerant. Beneath family life, sports and friends are playing the largest role in my life.
I want to finish my application with my expectations and my goals. I think staying in the USA will be an experience for me, I wouldn’t want to have missed and it will be determining influence on my personality. Moreover I want to improve my language skills and I hope to find something like a second home in your family. It would be great for me, if you have kids or/and a dog.
My hopes and wishes according to this exchange year are getting another perspektive in looking towards the U.S. and getting knowledge about your culture. I also hope that you´re interested in my culture. If you like, I can tell you some great stories about Germany or I can try cooking a typical German menue for you.
I hope you got an impression of me and my life. I´m looking forward getting to know you very much. Thank you very much for letting me live with your family.
