| Dear host family, First of all, thank you for choosing my letter to read. I am so excited to live 1 year in usa as an exchange student, here you have some ideas about me. My name is Mar and at this moment I am 14 years old but I will be 15 when I arrive. I live with my family in a large city in Spain, in a neighborhood close to the beach. In my family we are 5 members, my father, my mother, my 12 year old brother and my 10 year old sister. We are a close family that spends a lot of time together doing fun things. My father is a smiley person who is always making jokes. He is an engineer and very smart, and he helps me with my homework when I need it. About mom I would say she is a very hard worker, she is also an engineer and knows a lot of things that she likes to show me. I have a good relationship with my brother and sister and, even though we sometimes argue, I have fun with them. I love all them a lot. About me, I could say that I am a laughing and smiling person, with strong character and stubborn. I am a girl who has very clear ideas and I strive hard to get what I want. Sometimes I am a bit messy, but I like to keep things in order. I am very sociable and I adapt easily to new situations or environments that I can find. In my free time I like to read, sometimes I play chess (I took chess lessons from the age of 7 until I was 12), I do family activities and meet my friends. I enjoy being with my friends, listening to music, baking cakes, shopping and trying on clothes and makeup. but I am a sporty girl. I like to watch sports and some of my favorite sports are soccer and skiing, I practice both and enjoy them very much. I like to travel a lot and I have in my mind to visit many places in the future. I would like to have a pet, but, although I have always wanted one, my mother says that in Barcelona we don’t have space for the animal and that she is very busy with my siblings and me. The only animal that scares me is snakes, I’ve hated them since I was a child. My grandparents have a second house in the mountains and I love going there, hiking, skiing and staying with them and the cousins. About food, I like all kinds of healthy food except spicy food and I love fruit. I usually prepare at least 1 meal a week for the rest of the family. My father or mother teaches me how to cook delicious Spanish dishes that we all eat afterwards. Finally I want to say thank you for reading my letter.
