Dear host family,

First of all, I want to thank you for reading this letter and for the opportunity I have to belong to your family. I would like to feel part of the family from the beginning and I know I am privileged to be able to meet another family with another culture and feel like a member of it.

My name is Marco, I´m 14 years old and my birthday is on April 4th. I am a happy and open person and I usually get along with everyone. I belong to a middle-class Spanish family. I love my family. I have a bigger sister who is 16 years old. We are very close and have shared everything since we were little. I adore her and although sometimes we argue, we have a very good relationship. My mom is Elena and she is 52 years old. She works as a primary school teacher in a near village and she is very kind. We have the same vacations and public holidays so we can spend much time together. I tell her all my grades and I hope she is proud of me.

My dad is Juan Fran and he is 48 years old. He works as a manager director in a business school and he is very loving. Fridays are the best day of the week to spend time together because he comes back home earlier. He is always there to help me, and we usually play table tennis together. We love it. He is very funny, and I love to spend time with him. We have one beautiful black dog who is 8 years old that is part of our family too. All of us live in a village near Seville, that is a beautiful Andalusian city. Also, we go to Huelva every summer with the rest of our family who lives there and it is about 1 hour driving. Huelva is another Andalusian city near the beach. I always have a great time with my friends there.

I consider myself as a person who adapts easily to different situations. For example, I have lived in two different places, so I had to change schools twice, and I could adapt to both quickly. Nowadays I study in a public high school. I´m very excited about living this fantastic experience in the U.S.A. I would like to improve my English level (sorry for the mistakes I did in this letter) and I would love to learn about American culture and share my experience with all of you.

I´m very hard-working and responsibly at school. I always do my homework and study for my exams. I also help at home: I walk the dog, I throw out the trash, I do some housework, etc. And I’m willing to learn new things. My favorite hobbies are soccer, play table tennis, horse riding, having a good time with my friends and later playing videogames with them, watching Netflix and chill, but I would love to play football there because I want to do something different.

In my new home I would like to show you Spanish culture, for example, how to make a good Spanish omelet. If the family has children, I want to be a good brother. I would like to be a true member of my host family and have a very strong and good relationship with all of you. I am willing to help my high school classmates with doubts about Spanish. As I love Spain, I can do a presentation about Spain or Seville: its culture, the most important and beautiful places, etc. Spain is a beautiful place; in the future I would like my host family or my American friend to come to Spain and visit it with me.

I´m very excited to start this new experience that is going to be very important for me and I´m looking forward to meet all you, my host family.
