LETTER FROM Naia

Naia

Hello!

My name is Naia. First of all, I would like to thank you for volunteering to be a host family, it really means a lot to us and you make all this possible.

My nearest family consists in three people: my mom, my dad and my sister. My dad is a translator, he loves nature and simplicity, and his character is more or less the same, he is simple, humble and always challenges us to be better and treat everyone with kindness. My mom is a head of sales of an airplane company, she is really extroverted, heartwarming and protective, she loves watching series and learning about new cultures, she is the type of person who will fiercely protect you, always. My sister is the opposite and the same as me at the same time. She likes fashion and always likes everything that is trending at the moment, but she also loves nature, friends and simple things like me. Even if we are mad at each other, we always team up for everything. Finally, me. Well, I think I’m someone that take things by heart too soon, but I’m also a person who likes to get better every day, and tries to comfront every difficulty I may have.

Talking about me, I love doing sports, I like martial arts. I also love music, I play the cello since I was 7 and I love listening to music, at the moment, I’m studying music and I love playing in groups or in orchestra. In my free time, I also like reading, drawing, hiking, climbing… I love everything that has something to do with nature and chilling. My favourite food is sushi, I love asian food in general, I also like pasta, soup… I would say almost everything, I’m a simple person in that subject. At home, we have three main holidays, Christmas, Easter and Summer holidays, and we don’t really have many family traditions, we celebrate Christmas, Easter, Halloween… we’re not a really traditional family, but I’m completely open to any new traditions! Who knows, I may adopt them!

From this experience I hope, first of all, that I become more fluent in English. I would like to be able to be better at it in ways that you can’t study at school. I also, from a personal view, hope to become a more independent person, be able to, in the future, live by myself in places without people I know, be able to make friends, get aquainted easily to places… I also would like to learn about new cultures. I would like to become a person who knows about other cultures and knows how to properly act to respect them. I’m completely open to whatever I have. I just would like to live with a family who accepts me as much as I will accept them, with people who are open to everything and are willing to do plenty of activities.

Well, that was all. Thank you for reading!
