LETTER FROM Natalia

Natalia

My name is Natalia and it would be a great pleasure to be part of your family for a year, before I write anything else I would like to thank you for letting me fulfill this crazy dream of mine.

I am a very friendly person since I love meeting new people and getting to know their cultures and the way they think, my friends also say that I´m a very positive and energetic person since I´m always smiling (or at least trying to). Being a sociable person makes me want to spend most of my time with my family and friends. Although I love spending time by myself while listening to music (my favorite styles are rock and kpop, which stands for Korean pop), watching TV shows (such as the Vampire Diaries, which is my favorite one), anime (which is like cartoons but in Japanese), watching films (my favorite movie genres are fantastic, drama, thriller and action), I also love reading books (my favorite book is “The fault in our stars”, since is very realistic and I love John Green, the writer. I also love reading series of books but I can´t choose my favorite one), I also like playing tennis since it’s a very fun sport to play with friends, one of the things I enjoy the most is to volunteer in order to hand out food for people in need living in the city streets. I have always lived in a small city just north of a larger city.

One of my favorite foods is Spanish omelet, which I would love cooking for you, but I have to tell you that the last time I attempted making one was when I spent a year abroad in Ireland and the omelet ended up on the ground. I also love making cakes and my specialty is a chocolate cookie cake.

The high school I attend to is also in my city; there I spend around 6 hours, when the school hours end (at about 2:20 pm) I take a 15 min walk home with my friends, then I have lunch and chill for about an hour or two until I have to start doing my homework, or summarizing, or whatever I have to do that day, at about 8pm I finish working and I usually go to the gym until 9:30, when I get home me and my family have dinner and we stay up until 11-11:30pm chatting. On weekends me and my brother help to do the household chores (cleaning, vacuuming, etc), we also visit my grandparents, and sometimes we go for a walk in the city’s streets. My family is composed of four members (and my cat); my father, e is spanish and all my paternal family as well; my mother, which is from Italy but was born in Guinea; and my older brother.

My group of friends is composed of 12 people, when we hang out we like to watch movies, take walks without having a specific destiny, buying food and chatting, doing different challenges and going to parties (sometimes). My best friend is half Spanish half Galician (her mother is from Galicia which located in the north west side of Spain, on top of Portugal) and we’ve known each other since we were around 9 years old but we became best friends when we were 12.

This Christmas my family and I went to the USA (because we love traveling) and visited Las Vegas, and I personally wouldn’t go back because it’s a “crazy” place full of gamblers, during our stay in Vegas we also visited the Grand Canyon which is beautiful and I would totally recommend visiting it. A couple of days later we travelled to Los Angeles and visited the walk of fame and many other places, but my favorite one was the Universal Studios, specifically the Wizarding World of Harry Potter since I’m quite a big fan. Three days later we arrived to our last stop, San Francisco, there we visited much more places than on the previous places since we stayed for four days, I think my favorite part was Fisherman’s Wharf because I love animals and there were a lot of sea lions and the atmosphere was very nice. After our wonderful trip to the USA we came back to Spain and had a few days off until we had to start school again.

I hope with this letter you know me a little bit and I looking forward to sharing with you my dream.
