My name’s Olivia, and I live in Brazil with my mom who is a lawyer. Although my parents are no longer together my dad, who is a designer, is currently present in my life and we three get along really well. I enjoy living in my city for the reason that I’m able to walk around my neighbourhood and the nearby ones with friends, making me feel more independent and I’m sure this is a big point in my personality. Since I’m an only child, and I certainly like to be surrounded by people, I’m always trying to be as active as possible. It would be cool to have siblings close to my age.
In a normal week day, my mom and dad work from 8 to 5, which means after school I’m all on my own to firstly clean up my room, do my homework and what else is needed (I sleep a lot when I can). The subject I like the most is definately math, I mean it! I guess I just love to challenge myself and I can’t let go of something without finishing it. I love riding a bike, playing handball, drawing, singing, writing, photographing and travelling as well. My parents have taken me to meet new countries since I was little, we’ve been to London, California, Rome and also Florida. What have fed my desire for travelling.
Usually twice a week (when there is no extra rehearsing) I have tap dancing class. Dancing is my true passion. I have been dancing since I’m known as a person, ballet, contemporary jazz and tap dance are my favorite ones. I’ve attended to a Dance Festival last year and my group won second place! Music takes the time remaining, I can’t go through my day without listening to music at least once.
I constantly want to be informed either about arts or what is happening around us, I think I have the need to feel connected to the world. I consider myself very open-minded and one thing I would like to, is be able to tell my host family members everything about whatever happens to me and free discuss worldwide facts.
I bet you already got it, that I really like to talk and try new experiences, but sometimes when I fail I tend to be very hard on myself. One of my biggest achievements on this program is honestly understanding. Myself, people and learning as I go along a new culture and language. I want to meet people, places and not be afraid of the new. I can’t even describe my excitement for this exchange program and meeting my host family!
