LETTER FROM Ornusa

Ornusa

My name is Ornusa, but you can call me Earn. I would like to introduce myself and let you know me through this letter. Being an exchange student in the U.S. is always a great dream of mine. I’m really excited to get that worth experiences and especially meeting my lovely host family soon!

I am from a small province with natural scenery that quite different from Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. I have been living here with my family since I was born.

About my family, there are 5 persons; my dad and mom, my brother, my sister and me. My both siblings are older than me. And I am the youngest child of my parents. My dad is a government official. He is always working hard and very busy. We haven’t spent too much time together but he always takes care of me. My mom is a teacher, teaching at elementary school. So she is familiar with many kinds of children. That’s why my mom is person who understands me the most. About my siblings, my brother and my sister are over 10 years older than me but I get along really well with them. Now, they’re both working. They had been living apart from my family since they entered to the university. It has been about 7 years that I have been living with my parents without my siblings. However, they often come back to home every long holiday and keep in touch together with family.

Currently, I study in senior high school, studying in science-math program. My school is quite big. There are about 4,000 students studying here. My classmates are very nice and friendly. We always help each other to be successful in our studies. My favorite subjects are Art, Physics and English.

I love art and I think I have a little creativity skill. I am always being like an art director in class project, such as creating a backdrop, designing t-shirt and I always spend a lot of time on drawing as well. I’m interested in architecture and of course, my ideal future career is to be an architect. Apart from drawing, I have other hobbies like playing guitar and listening to music. I enjoy going to concert so much. At the end of the year, there is a famous music festival in my city and definitely, I join that concert every year. I really love the moment when dancing and singing out loud in the concert. I’m a person that not good at any kind of sports but I enjoy
doing them with my friends. On the weekends, I sometimes go running and play badminton in the evening at school as well.

The characteristics of me, I am talkative and always in a good mood when being with my friends. I am ambitious when I’m really into something; like to be an exchange student. I have been trying so hard before and I will try to do my best as much as I can when I’m being there. Moreover, I am helpful too. I can help you to do the housework as well. My weaknesses are my forgetfulness and my shyness; I know the shyness is the biggest barrier to making friends but I’m trying to get rid of it and be friendly to everyone.

As I told that being an exchange student in the U.S. is the great dream of mine. I would like to experience an American culture in real life, improve my English to be better and gain more life experiences. A year in the U.S. would be a wonderful year in my life.

I really look forward to coming to see you. Now, I am ready to be in the new environment, learn new culture, make new friends and meet new family. I’m very excited. I hope we will have a wonderful year together with many unforgettable memories and a beautiful friendship!
