Dear my host family,
Hello! Thank you for volunteering exchange student hosting.
My name is Yunyeong and I live in Korea. My English name is Yun. My family is mother, father, younger sister, dog and me. My father always trusts me and respects me. My mother prays for me and gives a good advice to me. When l have a worry, my younger sister listen carefully to my story. And my lovely dog always makes me happy.
I used to attend a Christian boarding school. All the students were allowed to go home once a month. I moved to another school, a girls’ middle school, this September. Although I was nervous about new friends and new lessons, I met good friends and teachers. I enjoy school happily now.
Many people say that I am a thoughtful girl. l like people and I am really happy to help them. I have many hobbies: I like watch movies, read books, take a walk with my dog, write letters, drawing, play with friends and listen to music. These days I like most are reading books and taking a walk with my dog.
I have many dreams too: I want to be a movie director, writer, counselor, marine researcher. What I want to be most now is medical missionary. I think it may change. I wonder what I am given my mission from God. I will find it praying hard.
I thought I can’t go abroad travel until I get a job. But, chance came to me recently. I was going to France, Swiss and Italy traveling with my sister and mom. I was surprised because they are so beautiful.
After that, I stayed in the US for 3 months because of the school’s free semester system. Everything looked strange and new. I met foreign friend, gave an order in the cafe in English, and went field trip every week. And I lost my way in New York with my friends. I can’t forget this forever.
I traveled to China with my grandmother and grandfather in this year. It is like dream time. When I was young, I spent my all times with grandmother and grandfather. They talked about those times and said that they prayed for and loved me. I was happy with them.
I don’t have much volunteering experience except picking up trashes after some big events in the city and cleaning chapel and choir. Therefore, if I have chance, I really want to do volunteer in America.
I want to develop my English but the reason why I apply for this exchange student program is to meet various kinds of people and experience to broaden my horizon. I want to learn right living habit and use time effectively. I think that one year of exchange student will make me grow.
I anticipate great times with host family and friends in America. I expect it will be happy time. I wish to do many activities like sports and art and volunteering. I want to be a diligent person to manage time well.
In Korea, we do not have much events or party. I know about America has many anniversaries. So I want to make good memories with my host family through these anniversaries. I want introduce Korea culture: make Korean food, listen to K-pop music, and do Taekwondo together. I can teach Taekwondo.
Thank you for reading my letter. One more time, thank you for hosting me. I will try hard to be a good family. Peace with Jesus Christ.
