When I received my host family placement confirmation …
I was shocked!
I was going to live for 10 months in a little town of 1,243 inhabitants, in central Vermont, a state of which I had never heard before. It was kind of weird to go live in a farm after living in a city for 16 years.
Before coming here, we had a couple of Skype calls and some email exchange, but I had no idea what I was going to experience later.
When I arrived at Burlington Airport and saw my family waiting for me …
I knew that I had come to the right place.
I felt totally accepted in the family, not only as an exchange student guy from Brazil, but as a son and a brother.
Now that I’ve been here for almost 4 months, I feel like I’m at home. My school, Twinfield Union School, is awesome and I really like my friends and my teachers.
Now the cold weather is coming and I am trying to get used to it!
