(One of our Texas host mothers wanted to share her experience after taking her exchange student back to the airport.)

Should you host an exchange student? Yes! 100% Yes!

Even though I could never accurately describe what hosting a foreign exchange student was like. Nora has been our main focus for the past 10 months and really the 8 months before she got here.

We accepted this sweet, loving, happy 17 year old into our house and she made us into a family. I will forever be grateful for that. I have no idea how we ended up being so lucky to find this girl who was raised across the world from us, but somehow fit seamlessly into our lives. Her sense of humor, sarcasm, beliefs, and personality just meshed. We are now a family of three, even if she is halfway around the world.

We are so sad that she’s gone that we can’t even manage to go home just yet LOL. The house will be so quiet without her. Nora, we love you so much!
