Dear Host Family,

I am very excited to introduce myself. My name is Lukas, and I am 15 years old. I am an excellent student, as well as a soccer player. I have an average height for a boy, mainly straight hair with a bit of curls. I can’t tell what color my eyes are, but I would say they are grayish. I usually have a smile on my face. I am a very polite kid with good manners, I don’t swear, and I am also very friendly. I am also honest, trustworthy, and reliable. I want to challenge myself to study abroad far from home in a different language, so I can become even more confident and independent. I can assure you that if you choose me as your host son, you won’t regret it.

I live in a house with my mum Eva (47) and my dad Branislav (46). Both of my parents work as entrepreneurs in the field of real estate. Although they are loving and caring, they can be strict as well. We often go on walks together or play board games. My sister Martina is 18 years old, and she inspired me to go to the US because she went two years ago. We also have a dog; his name is Rony, and he’s a Chihuahua. We travel a lot. During the summer, we travel to the sea, while in the winter, we go skiing.

I attend a high school. Our school has an 8 and 4-year attendance. As I am one of the top students, I often help my classmates with their studies. My favorite subjects are Math and Physics. Yearly, I also participate in various competitions in these subjects, achieving great results. Overall, I would say I am a naturally gifted student. I don’t need to study for long periods to memorize something. I am also very disciplined and hardworking in school as well as in everyday life. Also, I have been attending an extra English course for ten years.

I have been playing soccer for ten years now, having training four times a week plus weekend matches. For the past year, I have also been going to the gym regularly five times a week. Outside of improving my language, I hope to get to know you better, experience your lifestyle, get to know your culture and traditions, and explore new parts of the world. I would like to make new friends, and new connections, and maybe even find a college I would like to attend in the future. Overall, I am open to everything new; I want to make memories and grow as a person.

Having a good time, though, goes hand in hand with having responsibilities. I am not expecting that I won’t have to do any chores. Same as at home, I will be happy to help with anything from vacuuming to taking out the trash. I would love to have an opportunity to experience living in a different country for so long. I am looking forward to meeting you and getting to know you. I want to experience your culture while showing you a bit of mine. I am very sociable, so I can get along with anyone. I am also very tidy, so there won’t be a problem either. I would love to be your host son. Thank you for considering me.
