LETTER FROM Marina

Marina

Dear host family,

My name is Marina Cabredo, I’m 15 years old and I live in Barcelona, Spain. I live in an apartment with my parents, my sister and our cat. We love to go on walks around the city, or hikes through the mountains. We also enjoy relaxing family evenings watching a movie or playing board games. But my favorite thing to do with them is trying new food and restaurants, because we have so much fun and I love to try new things.

I would say that I’m an extroverted and outgoing person. I’m easy to get along with and I make friends easily. I’m kind, trustworthy, loyal, sincere and responsible. I have strong opinions and I can be a perfectionist which can sometimes make me stubborn. My strengths are creativity, problem solving, and easy adaptability. My weaknesses are laziness, impatience and procrastination.

What I enjoy most is spending time with my friends. I love to sit in a cafeteria and talk about life with my best friends, hang out at a house and watch a movie, bake, listen to music while we get ready to go out or just chit chat. I love nature, especially the beach. It’s my favorite place. I love to go paddle boarding and to tan for hours in the summer, my preferred time of the year. My sport since I was little is horseback riding. I love being with animals in general, but especially horses, they bring me so much peace and joy. I also do track, which I find that it’s a way to get my mind off
things and I really like it. I enjoy eating so much, I love sushi, Italian food and, of course, the food from my country, Spain. But I also enjoy a burger or a good barbecue.

I’ve been dreaming about going to the USA for as long as I can remember, and from this experience, I hope to learn about your culture, customs and traditions, and for you to learn something from me. I am sure that it will be an unforgettable experience and that I will learn a lot.

Warm regards,

Marina
