LETTER FROM Lucia

Lucia

Dear Future Host Family,

First of all, I wanted to thank you for dedicating your time to read this letter. In it I’ll try to be as accurate as possible so you can make a better picture of myself. I just wanted to say that I am thrilled about the opportunity to spend the next year with you in the USA. Studying abroad has been a dream of mine since I can remember, so I’m beyond excited! Back home, I live with both of my parents and with our adorable cat named Perla. I also have a very close relationship with my aunt, who visits us really often. I love them a lot, just as I love to spend quality time with them, doing activities such as watching movies or series together, playing board games or just visiting different places.

About me, it is true that on first touch I can appear to be a bit shy, but once you get to know me you’ll discover I am friendly, creative and sympathetic. Regarding high school, I would consider myself as a hardworking and responsible person. When I propose something, I work hard to achieve it. I try to be organized with my studies. I think that this opportunity will help me to step out of my comfort zone not just to develop my independence, but to live wonderful new experiences that I believe will contribute to my personal development.

Moreover, I enjoy a variety of activities such as drawing, playing piano, and of course, reading. When I am really busy with work from high school, I don’t really dedicate much time to them, so I try to do them when I’m finished with my exams, mostly on holidays or high school breaks. More than that, staying at home watching movies with my family is also one of my favorite activities. However, this doesn’t mean I don’t like to go out at all! On the contrary, I do love hanging out with my friends, or doing spontaneous plans, like going shopping or just going for a walk. I also like doing sports, right now I am attending classes my high school offers us in order to get the lifeguard title. Plus, although I no longer practice basketball, some of my friends still do it, hence why sometimes we meet to play together and have a good time.

I’m more than sure this great experience will enhance my English and foster my personal growth. But what I consider more important is that I will learn about new cultures, traditions or ways of living, and I will meet new people and make new friendships during the process. I’m sure there will be a lot for me to learn and adapt to, and I’m ready to embrace everything with an open mind and a positive attitude. Thank you again for your consideration, I am looking forward to creating wonderful and unforgettable memories together.

Warm regards,

Lucia
