Dear Future Host Family,
My name is Aleksander, and I am really thrilled to be a part of your family during my five months in the USA.
In this short letter, I would like to introduce myself a little bit, so you can have a better image of me.
I have lived with my family in the western part of Germany since 2011. Before that, we were residing in Warsaw, Poland. My close family consists of four members: my dad, my mom, my younger brother, and myself. I love going to the gym with my dad or wrestling a bit with my brother every now and then. I also love going for walks with my mom and talking with her about several things. We both have a matching sense of humor, and it is always funny talking to her, whether it is about serious stuff or just casual things.
I would describe myself as being very extroverted, as I usually do not have problems when it comes to talking to new people. I am an open person who loves to make new friends. I am helpful, independent, and honest. But I do have some weaknesses because nobody is perfect. I sometimes forget to do something when I am asked to do it, but I am working to get better at it.
Personally, as I have mentioned above, I really love going to the gym, whether it is with my dad or my friends. Gym is my second priority after school because education always comes first. I also enjoy playing video games with my friends or going out with them; I just hang out after school or on weekends. I play some sports too, like soccer, badminton, or volleyball, but badminton is the sport I’m the best at by far. I played in a badminton club for 5 years, which is now 2 years ago, but I still enjoy playing it. My favorite food at the moment is spaghetti bolognese, but I also like other things, like chicken with rice or various fruits. My favorite holidays are the winter holidays, as we always visit our family in Poland. On top of that, I am more of a winter guy myself, so I really love spending time in the snow or doing winter sports like skiing or snowboarding.
As I think that this exchange will be a “once in a lifetime” experience, I really look forward to meeting new people, learning new traditions, and exploring new places. I believe that these five months will be one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life and that I will greatly benefit from this exchange.
Thank you very much, and see you soon!
Aleksander
