| Dear Future Host Family, my name is Theresa and I am writing to introduce myself and express my excitement about the opportunity to join your family as an exchange student. Firstly, let me tell you a bit about my own family. We are a close-knit unit consisting of my parents, my younger brother, and myself. We love spending time together, whether it’s going for walks, playing board games, embarking on bike rides, or enjoying movie and series marathons. With my grandmother I like to go out Shopping in the City, which is always a fun and memorable experience. Now, let me describe myself. I am a very optimistic, friendly, and honest teenager who values independence. However, I do acknowledge that impatience is one of my weaknesses, which I am actively working on improving through reading. In my free time, I enjoy running, cycling, immersing myself in a good book, listening to music, and experimenting in the kitchen. Pasta happens to be my favorite dish to whip up, and I find great joy in the process of cooking. One of the highlights of the year for me is the Christmas holidays, as it’s a time when my entire family gathers together, and shortly afterward, we welcome the new year with open arms. Our most cherished family tradition is having a big breakfast together on weekends, where we catch up on each other’s lives and share laughter and love. As I prepare for my upcoming adventure abroad, there are several things I hope to take away from this experience. Firstly, I want to immerse myself in a new culture and language, broadening my perspective and understanding of the world. Secondly, I aim to develop greater independence and resilience by navigating life in a foreign country.
