LETTER FROM Pedro

Pedro

Dear Amerircan Family,

Hi!
My name is Pedro and I’m 14 years old. I live with my parents and my grandparents in the south of Brazil.
I spend a lot of time with them, including my dog Lupita. She’s a Border Collie and they say she’s the smartest dog in the world, but sometimes I have my doubts (laughs).
I consider myself a very calm boy, polite, friendly and responsible.

During the weekend I love watching movies with my parents, doing physical activities, playing chess with my father, cooking with my mother, playing with my dog, and generally on Sundays my grandmother usually makes barbecue meat, risotto, lasagna and other delicious food. With my friends I like to play ,videogame, get together to go to the mall, watch a movie at the cinema, order a pizza, play board games and play soccer.

In my routine during the week, in the morning I go to school, and my favorite subjects are: Physical Education, Mathematics, Geography, Physics and World History.
In the afternoon, I go study and go to the gym every day and at night I do Muay Thai, twice a week.

I am so interested in sports, both playing and watching and I really like to play soccer, it’s one of the favorite sports that I would like to play during my exchange program in the USA. Some of the sports I used to do in the past are swimming, baseball, go-karting, athletics and tennis.
I still don’t know what college I want to go to, but my father always talks about the importance of technology nowadays.

I really love traveling and I’ve had the opportunity to visit different places around the world with my parents: the modern Singapore; Dubai, for its grandeur; the beautiful beaches of Thailand; the unforgettable Safari in South Africa; Punta Cana; as well as the beautiful Foz do Iguaçu Waterfalls in Brazil.

The idea to participate in the US Exchange started with my father because he was an exchange student 25 years ago and since I was very young I have heard how important it is to have an experience abroad, not only to learn English, but also so that I can grow as a person and become more independent. During my student exchange program, I hope to have a great relation with my American host family, to make new friends in school, improve my English, play sports, become more independent, and if possible see some new places of USA.

I am very excited and really looking forward to this opportunity to be an exchange student in US and , and I hope my host family receives me like part of their family 🙂

Hugs
Pedro
