Dear Host Family,
I do not know you yet, but I’m more than excited to meet y’all! I am so blessed that I get the opportunity to spent a whole year in your home, to live with y’all and to get to know your routines and habits. I’m excited to learn about your traditions and your culture and also to show you a bit of my culture.
I can adapt quickly to new situations and like getting to know new people. I’m also a very happy person, I love to make people smile and to me it is important to treat them with respect. I can be a bit lazy sometimes but I also love to do fun activities. I’d describe myself as open-minded and honest person and it is important to me that the people around me are doing well.
My favourite Food is by far sushi, I love it! But I’m also very open to try new things 🙂
My family and friends are also very important to me. I have a little sister, she is 11 years old and even though we fight sometimes, my life wouldn’t be the same without her. My parents are very supportive and helpful for me. On holidays we like to travel to new countries and visit new cities, hike and enjoy spending time together. My family wouldn’t be complete without my dog, Cacau. He is a Labrador and one year old, who is currently in his devilish phase.
After school I like to spend time with my friends. We like to bake together, watch movies or do trips. But I also do have hobbies like theater, volleyball or going to the gym. I also do like skiing and hiking or creative things like music and painting.
My family moved twice and I would say that the second move was particularly important for me, because on the one hand I left friends and familiar surroundings behind, and on the other I made new friends in a new environment. In year 8 at school, my school organized a student exchange with a French school, which I took part in. This exchange showed me that if you approach other people, great new friendships can develop. That’s what I’m hoping for in my year in America too.
I am very excited to see what your life looks like and can not wait to get to know you!
