Hello, I’m Lola. First of all, I would like to say thank you for reading my letter and discovering my profile because without you, the host families who are very helpful in this experience, none of this would be doable. Then thank you so much for everything you do for us.
Then, my family. My family is very important to me and I love spending time with them, even more so with my older brother who is 19 years old. My parents, Mélanie my mother, is 39 years old and a manager. My dad, Damien, is 41 years old and is an air traffic controller in Geneva. Both are great and very important to me. I know that not seeing them for a year will make me weird but I know that they support me and that motivates me even more. My mom has a boyfriend, his name is Mickael, he’s very nice and I’m glad they met!
Let’s not forget my animals. Orace and Lili are my two chihuahuas, they are adorable. Then there are Domino, Sky and Guismo. They are my three cats. Domino and Guismo are small cats, while Sky is very tall because he is a Maine Coon. And finally, there’s Upendo, it’s “my horse”. Officially no, but I’m the one who takes care of him and I only ride him. All this to say that my family is important to me.
I think if I had to describe myself, I would say that I am very creative and I really enjoy learning new things. I would say that I am quite talkative and energetic, even more so on new subjects. Creativity can be detrimental to me, often I have trouble being organized but I have the impression that it is improving.
To talk about my passions, I love animals and outdoor activities. Obviously, horseback riding is my great passion, I love spending time there and being with the animals. Cooking is also something I really like to do, both savory and sweet.
I’m someone who loves to sleep, to sleep a lot. But getting up early is not a problem. As for food, I love almost everything except for some things I hate: zucchini, mushrooms and eggplant. I think my favorite food is breaded fish with rice. For dessert, I love the Alexandra which is a chocolate meringue cake, it’s a specialty of my home. But what I like the most is the aperitif, sausage, drinks, chips, peanuts, etc…
That’s how I would say that I am and what I like. I think I can bring good humor throughout this year because of my great joy of life that I like to share with others as much as possible. What would I like to learn from this experience? First of all, I would like to meet new people that I will never forget. Meeting people who will mark a part of my life and who have allowed me to learn new things about myself. Secondly, learning about a different culture is very interesting, another way of living, another everyday life, different ideas and many other things. Obviously, a new language is a huge bonus for me and that’s obviously one of the reasons, but when I come back it won’t be the new language, I learned that will be my subject but rather my new friends, my host family and everything I experienced there. These are my motivations for this adventure.
Thank you for taking time to read me and I wish you a great day.
