LETTER FROM Konstantin

Konstantin

Dear host family,

I am delighted that you are considering taking me into your family for a year as an exchange student!

To tell you a bit about myself: I live with my parents and my sister in a town in the middle of Germany. My sister is two and a half years younger than me and a real whirlwind. I am now 15 years old and will be 16 when my year abroad begins. My favorite subjects at school are English, sports, social studies and art. We don’t have any pets ourselves, but I like animals of all kinds.

After school, I do a lot of sport, I regularly go to soccer training at a club and play basketball or table tennis with my friends on a playground nearby. I’ve even been lucky enough to learn to ski over the past two years. Very special experiences are the visits with my family when we watch sporting events together, such as the local basketball or soccer clubs. Sometimes I also meet up with friends to cook together, for example crepes or tacos.

I have wanted to spend a year abroad in the USA for a long time. My father was able to spend a year as an exchange student with a family in Nevada, and he still talks about this time with glowing eyes. Likewise, I’m looking forward to getting to know such an exciting and stimulating country, new people like you and also new hobbies (or sports). And of course, I am also curious about high school with its many opportunities and the chance to develop myself further.

Thinking about meeting you in person already excites me and I am looking forward to the eventful time that we will have together!
