Dear Host Family,
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter.
My name is Maja, and I am 15 years old. I have a bigger and a little brother, a cat, and a dog. I have a close relationship with my family, and we engage in many activities together. We enjoy swimming, hiking, and participating in sports as a family. Additionally, we love to travel to the Black Forest, a nearby large mountainous region. My family is a place where I can truly be myself.
However, I also enjoy spending time with my friends, especially those from my school and from the scouts. Scouting is my favorite hobby, and my scout group feels like a second family to me. I have been involved in scouting since I was about 6 years old, and I now lead a small group of 7 children. I’m also an altar server and regularly attend church. Furthermore, I participate in athletics, and I play violin. From the age of 5-12, my passion was competitive gymnastics, where I took part in many competitions in groups and individually.
My strengths lie in communication, my curiosity, and my interest in meeting and helping other people. At home, I care for our cat, dog and assist with household chores.
I am eager to embark on this exchange year to improve my English language skills and experience life in America firsthand. I am excited to meet new people, explore cities, and enjoy nature.
Thank you for considering my letter and giving me the opportunity to spend a year in America.
