Dear host family,

My name is Deiyale, and I have just started my first year of high school. I live in France, near Mont Blanc and the beautiful mountains. First, I want to sincerely thank you for volunteering for this program and giving me the opportunity to achieve my dream of experiencing life in the United States. I have always dreamed of living the “American Dream”, and this exchange program is making it possible.

I live with my mom, and we have a very close relationship. Although I don’t have siblings, I’m very close to my cousins and love spending time with them. I would describe myself as kind, funny, and a little shy at first, but I quickly open up and become sociable. Making people laugh is one of my favorite things to do, and I’m excited to bring smiles to you, even in English! Since I was young, I’ve loved discovering new places. Traveling with my family has given me the opportunity to explore different parts of the world, and I’m excited to experience American life and culture.

In my free time, I enjoy baking, drawing, shopping, and spending time with my loved ones. I also love filming to capture special moments and have a passion for cinema, both in front of and behind the camera. I also love watching movies and series, going out with friends, and trying new things. At school, I am very motivated and love new challenges. I am especially excited about the possibility of joining the cheerleading team at my future high school (if there is one), as it’s been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember.

This year abroad is an incredible opportunity to improve my English, experience a new culture, and grow as a person. I am looking forward to sharing my French culture with you while learning about yours. I believe this adventure will help me become more independent, open-minded, and create unforgettable memories.
