Hello dear host family, my name is Johanna, I’m 15 years old and I live in western Germany.

My hobbies are volleyball and going to the gym. In my free-time I meet friends, read a book or watch a film. When I’m with my friends, we go for a walk, go shopping or do a tour by bike. In summer, we sometimes go to an outdoor pool to spend a warm day there.

I live together with my mother and my father. I personally do not have siblings or pets but I’m open to it.

I decided to do 5 months abroad when I was 12 years old because I love the language and I also love to learn new cultures and visit new countries. It never changed and I made two exchanges from my school: in January 2023 I was in London and in June 2024 in Lyon. Both times for a week. My exchange partners were also in Germany and I loved the feeling of taking part in an entirely new and also different culture.

When I’m in the USA, I’m most looking forward to finding new friends, learning the culture and of course, getting really close with you. I’m also looking forward to taking part in a volleyball team to continue my sport. Maybe it would also be nice to be part of a swim team.
