Hello!
My name is Kristine. I live with my parents and my dog in Slovakia. My dog’s name is Vena, she is an Appenzeller Sennenhund. We love her very much and take her anywhere we can. She especially likes trips by cars. She barks from excitement, but we are less enthusiastic by it. We have to endure it for about 30 minutes before she calms down.
Anyways, moving on to my personality. I may be a bit shy at first, but I like to help others. I listen, when my friends share with me their problems and I am always there for them. I also have creative mood from time to time. However, I can be quite stubborn, but I always get things done. Cleaning my room can also be a bit chaotic, but I tidy regularly and clean the mess I make. I don’t have much time to go out with Vena as frequently anymore as I study frequently to maintain my grades.
As for my hobbies, I started going to the gym with my friend to get fit, but also to improve self esteem and confidence in myself. I really enjoy doing historical fencing, which we do with real steel swords (they are not sharp) and go all around Slovakia on various performances. I had the opportunity to do this all in front of hundreds of people and even in historical costumes. I mostly wear black & red dress with gold accessories themed to the Baroque period. I also played a role as a small figure in live chess, where us- the figures fight when called upon by masters of Slovakia in chess. That happened last summer and it was incredible. Additionally, I go skiing with my parents regularly, which I enjoy a lot. Every year we go on 26th of December to my grandma and her sister across Slovakia, where all of my family from mother’s side gathers, we open presents and most importantly spend time together. We usually stay there until 5th January and ski, when it is possible. My grandma lives right under Slovak symbol of High Tatras mountains, where my parents often hike in the summer, without me, because I don’t enjoy it. Finally, back at home I really love hanging out with my friends. We usually go to cafés and talk, even though we talk the whole day in school, we never run out of a topic to talk about.
To sum up, I am very excited to go to the US and learn more about your culture and habits, improve my communicating skills in English and hopefully build friendships that will last.
Thank you for making this possible. See you soon.
