Hello,
My name is Louanne, I am French and in a few months I will have the incredible opportunity to come to the United States as part of the program. I look forward to meeting you and sharing this experience with you.
My family supports me 100% in this project, even if I have to be away from them for a year.
In a few words, I would like to introduce myself and inform you that I was born without my right hand but I still have my whole arm. This has never stopped me from doing what I wanted! I do not see it as a weakness and I have never experienced any difficulties in my daily life. I manage to do everything. It is just a small difference and certainly not a handicap!
I live alone with my mother. Because of her work, we have moved several times (and are currently living in Tahiti). Despite changing schools, I have always adapted very well and have never had any difficulty making new friends. Thanks to this, I was able to discover new cultures and new environments.
Regarding my favorite activities, I love horse riding, which I have been doing since I was 8 years old. I also do cross fit, pilates and surfing. I also did classical dance, hip hop, when I was younger.
Outside of sports I like to read, spend time with my friends, listen to music, go to the movies and cook.
I am a fairly calm, laid back, attentive, sociable, curious and enthusiastic girl. I like fashion, taking care of myself and shopping.
I love to travel. With my mom, we travel often. We have already been to the United States several times (California, Florida, Nevada) and we have also been to New Zealand, my two favorite trips. In Florida I visited the University of Miami, it inspired me a lot to fight and come study with you. I already had a little experience with New Zealand where I went for three weeks with a host family to study English. It went very well. I can’t wait to do it again!
In the United States, I am eager to discover American life, to exchange with you on our respective traditions and to fully integrate into your family. I love your fast food, your wonderful landscapes, your sports like basketball, American football, and baseball. And of course Billie Eilish! My biggest dream is to visit New York in the winter, see the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, the September 11 Memorial and of course the thrift stores.
At home, being alone with my mother, I participate in daily tasks. I am respectful of family rules and habits, I have great respect for my mother who works a lot. I will happily adapt to your lifestyle. This stay represents for me a unique opportunity to progress in English and to learn a lot about myself and your culture. In my projects, I hope to be able to work in the USA one day.
I really look forward to sharing this adventure with you and creating beautiful memories together.
Thank you for welcoming me into your home and allowing me to live this unforgettable experience.
See you soon, LOUANNE.
