Dear Host family,

My name is Tereza, I live with my parents and two brothers. I don’t have any pets, but I always wanted to have some. My family is really active. On weekends we often go hiking, cycling, playing some sport (e.g. table tennis, beach volleyball, soccer), skiing on winter holidays… I enjoy these shared activities, but we all also adore our alone time.

Describing my own personality is really hard for me, but I will try my best. I’m more introverted then extroverted. I usually avoid big groups of people and prefer small circle of friends I know and trust. I’m competitive person, I like to challenge myself and compete against others or myself. I’m trying to be kind towards everyone, but since I am really shy around people I don’t know, sometimes I come out as rude at first. Because of this I have a slight problem with socializing and meeting new people. On the other hand, once I get to know someone and we become closer, I become more outgoing, talkative and I care for them deeply. My friend’s wellbeing is super important to me and I always try to do everything in my power to help them when they need it.

My favourite hobby is beach volleyball. I train every day after school and play tournament almost every week. Overall, I really enjoy all kinds of sports, I used to ride horses, climb, swim, dance, play tennis, do gymnastics… I tried a lot of sports, and I liked to do all of them, but now my absolute favorite is beach volleyball. I would really like to continue playing this sport while in USA. It’s my passion and something that really brightens up my mood every time. Besides from sports I also like to paint, especially on canvases, or do other creative stuff. I also love reading, mostly fantasy or detective books, but in the end I usually find interest in anything.

I’m really excited about living in America for a whole year. I hope to get to know American culture, meet new people, make new friends. Also spending so much time away from my family and friends will help me to become more independent, my english will improve and it will be amazing experience for life. I also hope that my year there will open my eyes and help me decide what I want and expect from the future.
