Dear host family,

My name is Valentina and I am very excited about the possibility of being part of your family during my exchange. I’ll be 16 years old in 2025 and currently in high school in Brazil. My friends and family often describe me as disciplined, persistent, responsible and reliable. All my life I have an open mind to face new challenges, meeting new people, exploring different cultures and learning more about the world outside my country. I’m always excited to learn, adapt and make the most of every opportunity that comes my way.

I am someone who love to take care of my health, I love going to the gym and make sports. And I love children, I take care of the children at my church and love spending time with them. One of my favorites hobbies since my 7 years old is ride horses. When I lived in countryside I participate equestrian championships. unfortunately living in a big city today I have few opportunities to ride a horse again

I come from a loving family consisting of a father, a mother and a seven years old sister. We enjoy spending time together like, go to lunch on weekend, go to the Presbyterian church on Sundays, spend time workout with my parents and having establish good conversations. Due to my father’s works I lived in different cities in Brazil and this experience gave me more access to other cultures, more maturity and got friends from different places.

At school, my favorite subjects are Mathematics and Chemistry. I enjoy them because they allow me to understand about the world, solve real problems, and connect fundamental ideas of nature and the universe. I also participated in solo competitions where I won medals in mathematics and in groups competitions which have helped me develop teamwork and leadership skills.

The idea of participating in this exchange excites me because it is a unique opportunity to immerse myself in the American culture, improve my English and grow both academically and personally. I have always been fascinated by the diversity and traditions of the United States, I’ve had this American dream for a long time and I believe this experience will give me a deeper understanding of life there.

I’m particularly excited to share my own culture with you, whether through food, music or stories, and I hope to learn the same from you. Living with a host family is something I look forward to because it will allow me to experience everyday life from a new perspective, creating memories and connections that will last a lifetime.
