In our family, besides my dad and mom, there is also an older sister. With my sister, we usually just chat and have fun together occasionally. Most of my interactions with my parents are through communication, and there are occasionally minor disagreements, but they usually get resolved quickly! Overall, I think the atmosphere of the family is quite good.
I am actually quite interested in pets, and my favorite is dogs. We used to have a stray dog at home, but we had to stop keeping it because we moved. Later, I got a hamster, and he has been very happy since then! In the past, I also had a turtle and goldfish. I interact more with dogs; I throw a ball in front of him, and he quickly retrieves it and gets a reward. Sometimes we play tag, and since he runs fast, we both end up panting when I catch up with him… Sometimes I also let my hamster out to play, but it’s limited to my room; otherwise, I might not be able to catch him back! My personality is a little bit introverted, but I open up a lot when I’m with friends. I tend to speak less with people I don’t know, but once we become friends, we can talk a lot! So overall, I really enjoy making friends.
I love playing basketball, but actually, my strongest sport is table tennis. I’ve been playing table tennis since elementary school! Even now, I still occasionally play it at church. As for basketball, I usually play with my classmates for about 1.5 hours after school before heading home! In fact, I find any sport quite interesting. My favorite activity is going out to ride electric scooters with my classmates on weekends, enjoying the time spent together with friends. My favorite food is probably “Ants Climbing a Tree,” so whenever I go out to eat, I’ll order it if I can. My favorite holiday is the Lunar New Year because I get a lot of time off! During the New Year, our family tradition is to travel north to Taipei to visit my grandmother. We usually don’t get to see her due to the distance, so we take the opportunity during the New Year to have a reunion dinner and spend some time together.
In this exchange student program, I hope to not only significantly improve my English skills but also develop a more outgoing personality and interact with more people.
