Hello my future host family!

My name is Abylaikhan, I’m-15-year-old teenager who’s dreaming of becoming an exchange student, my life goal is to study in the USA, it has been my dream for the last 5-6 years. I really like the USA because I used to watch a lot of American movies and my family likes this country too. I have a lot of hobbies such as playing basketball, playing computer games and PS5, reading books and watching movies. However, among all of my hobbies I’m really crazy about playing basketball. All the motions, dribbles, and passes in this game are so beautiful.

I have so many favorite basketball players like Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, Lebron James and others. I watch a lot of NBA games, last year the Denver Nuggets won the championship. It was so good, but I hoped that the Miami Heat would win it because Jimmy Butler played so well in the playoffs. Despite this Miami lost. Besides basketball I’m also jogging every morning at 6 am and I work out in the gym, but I won’t say I’m so strong I’m going to the gym just to keep my body fit because a healthy body means a healthy mind. I would describe myself as a responsible, kind, honest and reliable person. Moreover, I’m easy going and chatty, that is why I have a lot of friends whom I spend a lot of time with.

Let me tell you about my school, I’m not the best student in my class, but I’m doing my best there. Physics, maths and English are my favorite subjects at school. Why do I want to study in the US as an exchange student? First of all, I want to see how American people actually live, learn about their culture and traditions. Second, I want to have an experience studying in one of the schools in the US, because as far as I know the US schools are one of the best in the world. I am excited and highly motivated to have an opportunity to participate in this exchange program.

I completely realize that it’s going to be a totally new place and environment to me. I understand that I have to be able to adjust to any circumstances and changes in a life. Having said that I believe after completing a 1-year exchange program I will become a better person than I am now, this means I will improve myself a lot in all aspects.

Thank you very much for fulfilling my dream and inviting me to your home. I hope we will be very close and I will become a good member of your family. I can tell you a lot about my country and traditions we have here. I am sure it will be very different from yours. I am ready to learn and adapt. Of course since I will be a part of the family I am ready to help in the house and follow all of the rules. I hope to meet you soon and spend this remarkable year for me with you.
