Dear family:

Firstly, I, Aldara, want to thank you for letting me spend almost a year with you. It shows much generosity and kindness.

I live in a house with my parents. My mother, Beatriz, is a teacher and my father, Francisco, is a self-employed carpenter. What I love most about them is: my dad, his sense of humor and his excellent cooking; and my mother, her dedication and hard work. We like going for walks, spending time together, traveling.

About me now, I’m a girl who likes to read (mostly romance and fantasy), listen to music (I have a lot of favorite singers, but I think the ones I like most are Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo and Måneskin), draw, play the harp and spend time with family and friends. Like I said earlier, I play the harp. It’s been many years since I started to play it, I was 6 years old. I enjoy playing it and also transcribing music scores, my favorite one I’ve transcribed so far is Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, which I played with my two companions. I have a calm and cheerful personality but at first, I’m also a bit shy, I’m trying to overcome that. A bit more about me is, that my favorite holiday is probably Christmas because I enjoy decorating the house and watching Christmas movies. Lastly, my favorite meals are chicken tenders and pasta.

In my opinion, the greatest challenge I’ve faced was probably this scholarship. It was a stressful process, but in the end, it was all worth it. I always dreamt of studying abroad, outside the country I live in, and I finally got the opportunity.

I want to thank you again because without you, I could’ve never achieved this dream. Not only that, but I also hope that we have a wonderful time, and turn this into an unforgettable experience.
