LETTER FROM Artur

Artur

Dear host family,

First, I would like to thank you for offering me the opportunity to stay with your family during my
exchange. Now I want to tell you something about me and my life in Germany.
My name is Artur, and I am 15 years old. I live in West Germany with my parents and my little brother, who is 7 years old and my cat Manja. My older brother lives in South Germany. I visit the high school in my home town (German Grade 10). My family is an essential part of my life, which I love spending time with. My Hobbies are kickboxing, swimming and recently, ice skating, which I mostly do together with my friends. In fact, I would really like to try out new sports in America, like American football and baseball. Furthermore, I hope to improve my English significantly by learning at the American high school. In my free time I like to hang out with my friends, go swimming with them, ice skating and spend much time with my family. Sometimes I like to go to the cinema with my friends, enjoy a good movie. Moreover, I enjoy going out and eating in a diner. For a long time, I have been interested in America and have always wanted to visit this wonderful country. When my father suggested doing an exchange year, I began to research about it before we decided that it would be the best to make this experience. I have always loved travelling a lot, and America has always fascinated me! I am pleased, that I will soon get the chance to get to know the country and the people living there. Considering my exchange year, I mostly look forward to experiencing the culture, the new landscape and discovering new hobbies. I really enjoy my life in Germany, and I am pretty sure that I will miss my family and my friends a lot. But I know that this one – year experience in your family will be more of value than staying at home.

I am so excited about my year abroad!

Best wishes
Yours,
Artur
