Dear host family, hope this finds you well. My name is Bernardo, I have lived in Brazil since I was born, I am the type of person who likes to be at home most of the time, but I also really enjoy going for bike rides to the beach, or going to the movies, and I really enjoy listening to music and playing video games, I love robotics and everything related to that.

My family and I are very close, we like to spend time together in general, sometimes we watch movies together or we swim in our pool, but we also spend some time with the rest of our family, like my aunts and uncles, and my grandparents.

When it comes to my friendships, I don’t have a lot of friends, but the ones I do have are very close. We spend most of our time playing something on the computer, but every now and then we plan to go out to the mall or go to each other’s houses and spend the afternoon there.

At school, my favorite subjects are Chemistry, Biology, and Physics, and when my school still had it, I loved Robotics. Even though I criticize school a lot, I end up liking it because it’s a place where you’re with friends, and whether you like it or not, you have fun and learn some cool things.

I want to do this exchange program because, for me, it represents an opportunity to visit and learn more about a culture that intrigues me, to see places I’ve never seen, and to meet people I never dreamed of meeting. Besides, I also want to improve my English so I can communicate better with the people around me. I’ve always heard and seen in movies and stories from my acquaintances and family such great stories from their time living and staying in the United States.
