Dear Host Family, thank you for looking at my profile.

Let me introduce myself, my name is Chiara, I’m 15 and I live in a big Italian island with my family. My family and I are four people, my parents are separated and I have a little brother, Pietro.

My family and I are often busy with work, school, and sports, so we spend a lot of time outside the house and because my parents are separated, my brother and I spend time with both during the week, in both situations in the evenings. We enjoy watching movies together or taking walks in the city center. We all love traveling and enjoying sea destinations in summer and colder ones in winter. We all have a good relationship, I love them.

I’ve always lived near the sea, and I grew up with this view from my window, for that I’m so grateful. And a loud family I can always play games with, all my funny cousins and my relatives make every celebration special. I really like to be around many people, especially children, in fact I’ve a beautiful relationship with my 4 y/o cousin. We have a dog in our farmland, I love pets, I’ve always dreamt to have one at home.

I’m a girl who loves spending time with others but also loves enjoying time alone. I’m very selective with people around me. I’m a determined person: if I have a goal, I will do whatever I can to achieve it; this makes me a bit stubborn. For the same reason I am precise, intuitive and attentive. For me the most important thing is to finish whatever I start. I’m patient, kind and cheerful. My weaknesses are my empathy and my sensibility, because of them I always want to be sure that others are ok and it’s kind of a necessity for me to try to help them to solve their problems and sometimes I forget that I can’t always control everything.

I really like to go to the gym and currently I’m a Latin Solo dancer and last year, with my ex-partner, we were the Latin Duo Regional Champions of our category. I like walking and listening to music. I love reggaeton/ hip hop music and my favorite singer is TINI. In my free time I like watching movies, painting and doing ceramics. I’m a girl scout and I like spending time in nature and thanks to this experience I like to get by on my own in every situation, I’m very resourceful.

I love spending time with my friends and hanging out with them and organizing festivities, just to sing out loud and spend time together with my people. That’s why I always have a party for my birthday. The thing I love the most is traveling. This is the biggest goal in my life I think, for this reason I’ve always told my parents I wanted to study and work abroad and I’m so glad to have this opportunity.

I love Italian food but I like to try other countries’ food, my favorite food is pizza, ice cream and french fries. I prefer sweet food to savory one, but I don’t eat it frequently. I usually eat healthily, like lots of salads and fruits which I love.

My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love when the entire family is all around the Christmas tree, exchanging presents and during lunch and dinner sharing meals with all my relatives and at a certain time Santa arrives for children, these are my favorite moments. But I also enjoy Halloween with family and friends.

From this experience I hope to improve my English skills and grow as a person to become a better version of myself and learn new values. I think it is a beautiful experience but I know it won’t be easy to completely change my lifestyle but it’s a challenge with myself. I’ve always wanted to explore the world, to discover new places and people but most of all new cultures and traditions.
