LETTER FROM Enna

Enna

Dear future host family,

my name is Enna and I am an exchange Student from Germany. I am so incredibly grateful and happy that you have made such a unique experience possible for me. You will be my new family for the next 10 month and I am very excited about the fact, that thanks to you, I will have unforgettable experiences and will get to know your culture and can share mine with you.

Here in Germany I live with my parents and my older sister at home. My older brother already moved out for College. Most of the time I spend on practice, at school or meeting up with friends. My hobbies are playing Volleyball and dancing. Until two month ago, I also did gymnastics, but unfortunately, I had to quit because the time of practice overlapped. My every day life here in Germany looks something like going to school, when I come home eating something a making a break. In the late afternoon, I get ready for practice and then finally the best part of the day Starts. Why is Volleyball practice the best part of the day for me? That is easy to answer: I love to interact with all of my teammates. It is always so much fun because some of them are my really best friends. Apart from that fact, I always enjoy training with my friends because I love doing sports and I could never imagine a life without sports.

I am open to everything and this is why I would like to become a part of your family. It might be exciting to learn about your culture, habits and ordinary life. I am curious about how everyday life feels like in America. Another reason for applying to a Student exchange year is, I guess mostly basic, that once in a lifetime I would like to experience a typical high school as a Student. I am looking forward to discover new subjects and how for example PE-Iessons will be.

Those 10 month will not be like a holiday, it will be my life and I am going to become a member of a family who will complete tasks like everybody else. And that’s what I want to experience: The real life of an American teenager. And this is my chance to make it.

In the end I just want to mention how incredible thankful I am for giving me this chance to make a dream come true.
