Hello dear host family,

My name is Fernando. I’m 15 years old and I live in a small town near Madrid with my parents. Even though we don’t live in Madrid we like to go down to Madrid to eat in restaurants and walk around the downtown. We also visit my grandparents and my grandmother who live in Pamplona, a city in the north of Spain.

I am a person who likes to draw and play with my friends, with whom I usually play soccer and video games. I consider myself a kind, fun and funny person.

As I said before, among my favorite activities are drawing and playing soccer, but I also like to ride my bike with my friends and play basketball.

When I go to restaurants with my family, I like to try new things and I am always open to new foods and flavors, you could say that I eat everything, but there are some things that I don’t like very much, like broccoli.

In the summer holidays I usually go with my family to my grandparents’ village, where I have many friends, with whom I am every day doing things and riding my bike from one side of the village to the other. I also help my family pick vegetables from my grandparents’ garden. On some vacations we usually go out of the country to visit the cultures of other countries in Europe and the rest of the world. And I spend Christmas vacations with my grandparents and my cousins in Pamplona.

The reason I want to travel to the United States is to study for a year is to improve my English, to get to know the culture and to meet the wonderful people who will be waiting for me on the other side of the airport.
