LETTER FROM Francesca

Francesca

Dear Host Family,

I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Francesca, and I am a 17-year-old student from Italy. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to write to you and share a little about myself. I am very excited about the prospect of spending time in the United States, and I would love to be a part of your family during my exchange program.

First, let me tell you a little about myself. I come from a warm and close-knit family in southern Italy, and I am passionate about learning new cultures and meeting people from different parts of the world. I have always been fascinated by the American lifestyle, traditions, and especially the English language. I have a strong passion for sports, especially rowing, which is a challenging yet rewarding sport that I’ve been practicing for 4 years, training five times a week. Another sport I love is swimming, which I have been doing for 8 years, along with synchronized swimming. I also have a deep love for music and enjoy listening to it, singing, and dancing to the rhythm.

In school, I focus on my studies, and always strive to do my best. I am particularly interested in foreign languages: English, French and Spanish as I find them fascinating and enjoy diving deeper into the topics. I like to challenge myself by taking on subjects that broaden my knowledge and help me grow academically. I also value learning new skills, and I’m always eager to participate in extracurricular activities that allow me to expand my horizons. Whether it’s through school projects, group work, or engaging in class discussions, I enjoy collaborating with others and gaining different perspectives.

Additionally, I’ve always been dedicated to improving my language skills. Learning English is very important to me, as it opens doors to understanding other cultures and communicating with people from around the world. I hope that living in the United States will provide me with a unique opportunity to enhance my English skills while also offering me a deeper understanding of American culture.

In my family, there are four of us: my dad, my mom, my little brother Valerio, and me. We love spending time together, whether it’s watching movies after dinner or boating during the summer. I have a great relationship with my parents; I can talk to them about anything, and they are always there to listen and support me. I’m truly grateful to them. My brother is an important part of my life; we practice rowing together and always support each other. He’s the opposite of me, but we get along really well. He’s my best friend, and I can’t imagine my life without him. We also have a playful little dog named Trilly, who is 3 years old and brings a lot of joy to our family.

I believe that being part of an American family will not only help me improve my English but also allow me to broaden my knowledge and perspective of the world. I am very eager to contribute to your family life and be a respectful, responsible, and positive presence.
Living with you would be a chance for me to learn more about American culture firsthand, and I am looking forward to being part of your daily routines, sharing meals, and spending time together. I promise to be helpful, respectful, and open to new experiences. I am also excited to share a piece of my Italian heritage with you, whether it’s through cooking an Italian meal or teaching you a few words in Italian!

I believe this exchange will be a wonderful opportunity to grow as a person, and I would be truly honoured if you would consider hosting me. I am confident that we will have a great time together and create beautiful memories.

Thank you so much for considering me as part of your family. I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully starting this exciting journey!

Warmest regards,
Franscesca
