LETTER FROM Giulia

Giulia

Dear Host Family,

I can’t believe I’m writing this letter and that in a short time I’ll be spending a year in America.

My name is Giulia and I live in a condominium with my parents, my younger brother and my four cats. I love cats.

Our house is not excessively big and has a garden for our animals and where we can spend time together. In my family the only tradition that persists as in many other Italian families is that of the seats at the table, each of us must always sit in the same one and by now it’s a sort of habit.

About myself I can say that I’m a pretty quiet and calm girl, except when I see a spider, they scare me to death. For the rest I consider myself a good student even if I’m very shy and I hope that this experience can help me open up. I love music, especially Rock and my favorite band is Kiss, for this reason I often wear headphones even at home and they are like a sort of therapy for me when I feel down.

I really like drawing and sometimes I write and I love going out with my friends and spending time with them.
Like any good Italian I love cooking, but only the part where you eat, my favorite dessert is an Italian dessert called Tiramisu. Probably when I come to America I will try to teach you how to cook some Italian dishes so you can get to know a little more of my culture.
The experience as an Exchange Student interests me a lot, and I am sure that I will have a fantastic year. I am not afraid of my choice because I want to have new experiences and get to know the world since I love to travel.

I hope to feel part of your family and that you can be proud of me as if I were your daughter. I just have to say a big fat “Thank you” if you choose me because not only will you help me live this experience but you will be directly part of it.

See you soon.
