Dear Host Family,

Hello! My name is Guilherme, and I’m 16 years old. I’m currently in my second year of high school. I live in a town in the countryside of São Paulo, a place known for its food industries and overall friendly atmosphere. Originally, I’m from a city in the south of Brazil. It’s less tropical than the rest of the country, but it’s a lovely place with a unique charm. My family had to move to different cities in search of better job opportunities, which allowed me to meet and make friends from a different state in Brazil.

I’ve recently completed an English course, and I absolutely love the language. I also adopted an adorable dog, which has been a source of joy in my life.

I have a wide range of hobbies, and I’m always eager to discover new things, which is one of the main reasons I want to participate in this exchange program. I love playing video games and staying active. Swimming and volleyball are my strongest sports, but I also enjoy playing the trumpet. My taste in music is diverse; I enjoy rock, bossa nova, pop, and any upbeat song. I’m currently participating in a robotics olympiad, and it has been an incredible experience. I have a passion for learning and studying, and I hope to become a Mechatronics Engineer in the future.

Through this exchange experience, I hope to become more independent, learn more about myself, and of course, improve my English. I’m excited to immerse myself in a new culture that will teach me valuable life lessons. My teacher always says that “a point of view is a view for a point,” which has stuck with me. In the end, my goal is to grow as a person. My uncle was an exchange student in the United States, and my father had the same experience in Germany, so I’ve always been intrigued by the possibilities that come with living in another country.
