Hello,
My name is Guus and I live in the Netherlands. I have a big family with 3 brothers and 1 little brother. We live in a small farm at a outside area of my town. I have had a lot of animals: horses, donkeys, cows and pigs are a few of them. I like to travel with my family and to spend time together.
I am very respectful and always want to help people. I can relate well to people because I am always open and honest. I like to interact with people so I can talk and laugh with them. Sometimes I do things before I think about it, usually I know afterwards whether I was wrong or not and will apologize if I was. I am also a very cheerful person, sometimes my cheerfulness van stand out because I am enthusiastic about something. I always mean this well and never tend to irritate people with it.
My favorite hobbies are playing football, meeting with my friendgroup and skiing. I also really like to play the piano, I have been doing that for around 6-7 years now. I enjoy spending time with the people around me. I really like holidays, I think my favorite is winter break. At this time of the year most of the people are in a good mood because Christmas is just around the corner and with my own family I always go skiing in the winter break. I really enjoy playing soccer. I am in a team with with people that I like and the atmosphere is good. Unfortunately, we lose a lot of games, but we don’t give up and we make sure we can still make it a good game. Skiing is one of my most favorite things to do. I have been skiing for around 12 years now and every year we come back to Austria to enjoy some skiing. I like to sail as well, every year I go to my sailschool to enjoy some sailing and laugh with my sailfriends. My friendgroup means a lot to me. We have now a friendgroup of 8 and I am so happy with them. We help each other through rough times and we support each other daily.
With this exchange year I want to experience the American culture and the people. Making new friends and improving my English. Most of all I want the experience of being in America and do all the things I’ve ever dreamed about.
