Dear future host family,

I am Helena Sofia, but I am getting called Helena by all my friends. I am currently 15 years old and live in Germany in a small town surrounded by a beautiful landscape and many villages. So that you get to know me better, I will now introduce myself with some interests.

First of all you should know that I love watching series and movies with my family, friends or even alone. One of my favorite series are Gossip Girl and Outer banks and my favorite book is It ends with us. But I’m also very interested in music, so I like artists like Lana del Rey, Travis Scot, the weekend, Sabrina Carpenter and the neighborhood. When it comes to food, I definitely like pizza, pasta and grilled vegetables as well as wraps. However, I like almost every vegetarian food and am open to new dishes. Another thing that I like are animals, that’s why I wouldn’t mind having a host pet. I

n addition, I already have some plans and dreams for the future. So I would like to study business administration later and work as a project manager in a company, so that I can work with people from all over the world as much as possible and let my creativity run free.

If I had to describe myself, I would say that I am extroverted and introverted because I like to talk a lot, have fun and get to know people. However, my closest circle of friends consists of seven great and loyal friends but I was also able to make some new friends from exchanges and youth trips.

Furthermore, I live in a sweet house with a beautiful garden that has many beautiful flowers. In this house I live with my parents and my two siblings. My parents work as insurance clerks and justice secretary and my siblings are called Aaron and Hannah and attend the 4th and 12th grade. Besides that, I have some household chores such as cleaning my room and setting the table, I also regularly help my father cooking. And overall, I’m there to help if you ask me to. Now I’m going to tell some of my favorite activities with my family. On the one hand, I love traveling, such as holidays and excursions. On the other hand, we also play often cards and board games in the evening or we causally watch a movie in a cinema or at home together.

Now I have already told you a lot about myself, which is why I will now introduce you to my everyday life as a student. So I go to the 10th grade and have recently participated in a theater club where I can look behind the scenes of a play with other students. In addition, my favorite subjects are english, geography and art. After school I really love spending my time with a hobby that I recently started, namely volleyball. Aside from that I love reading and drawing, but in the evening I also like to play video games with my friends or just have a call with them.

Now you’re probably wondering why I want to go to the USA and am so fascinated by the United States. But for me there were several reasons, on the firsthand I love the sports and communities like school football teams. Secondly, I like the high school life and the idea of meeting many new people and getting to know the history and culture better. That is why I am looking forward to you, my host family, and the new people I will get to know the most. But I am also looking forward to high school life, the sport and the culture itself. That is why I hope for new friends, a second family, many experiences and the general cultural exchange. Besides that I hope that i will also improve my english skills and development my personality.
