I am so happy that I have these two wonderful girls in my life
When I agreed to take an exchange student last summer, I wasn’t sure if I was doing the right thing. However, it was one of the best things that could have happened at this time in my life. A few weeks later came the opportunity to host a second student. I reluctantly agreed. Accepting this responsibility was a little overwhelming, but I am so happy that I have these two wonderful girls in my life.
Having Kamila and Patricia inspired me to revisit beautiful areas of our great state and visit several others. They have made me think about how we speak and forced me to explain things with more clarity, like West Virginia and American slang. Dinner conversations are always delightful. I have done things with these girls that I would not have done without them. The smallest things that I once took for granted are now appreciated a bit more.
February has brought a reminder that time is passing too quickly. Kamila and Patricia have been a pleasure to have in my life. Hopefully, my daughter and I will get to visit them one day. (Patricia and her mother are already planning my visit.) I will never forget these sweet young ladies.
