Dear host family,

My name is Ida, and I am 15 years old.

First, I would like to thank you for giving me this unique opportunity and for hosting me. I am already very excited to get to know you better, and I am looking forward to a great time we will spend together.

I live with my family in a big city in Germany. My family includes my parents and my two siblings. We spend a lot of time together playing, chatting and sometimes arguing. We also have three dwarf rabbits that we look after together.

In my leisure time, I like to spend time with my friends. We go shopping, cook or bake together. This year, I went to my first Olivia Rodrigo concert with my best friends. But I also like to be alone in my room and spend my time reading. I’ve already tried out many different hobbies, such as basketball, climbing and horse riding.

Together with my family, we often go to a Danish island in the Baltic Sea, where my family takes a vacation home. We often go swimming at the beach there and go on hikes.

I did a student exchange to Spain last year, which was a great and exciting experience for me. It encouraged me in my desire to do a proper exchange. I’ve always found the US an exciting country, and my father has often told me about his stays in the USA. I think going to a real high school would be great. And I really want to make new friends and get to know a new culture.
