LETTER FROM Jhong Yi

Jhong Yi

Dear host parents,

I hope this letter finds you well. I would like to introduce my family and myself to you.

We are a family of four. My father, originally an engineer, has transitioned into business, while my mother is an English teacher. My elder sister is about to enter university. Our family tradition includes a special family day every Wednesday, which I cherish deeply. On these days, we dine together, chat, and watch movies or TV shows. It is a time when my sister and I share our school and personal lives, which I find very relaxing. My parents’ encouraging parenting style differs significantly from the norm in Taiwan, which has allowed me to express myself freely and to embrace new challenges. I enjoy spending time with my sister, as I feel most comfortable and open around her. We often have deep conversations and share our thoughts with each other.

My personality, I am introverted and quiet. I prefer working alone as it allows me to think more clearly. I am slow to warm up to new people and situations, but I am observant and consider myself responsible, ethical, and empathetic. However, my tendency to overthink things can sometimes slow me down. I am methodical in my approach and have a strong drive to succeed. My strengths lie in my analytical thinking, attention to detail, and empathy, but I can be slow to react and have a strong sense of pride.

In terms of hobbies, I enjoy basketball, fitness, skateboarding, and spending time with friends. I also have a passion for cooking and drawing. My favorite food is spicy duck blood, and I particularly enjoy the New Year festivities, where I can gather with my family to play games, chat, and receive red envelopes.

From this experience, I hope to broaden my horizons, gain a deeper understanding of different cultures, and make new friends. I am eager to explore the world, learn from others, and expand my perspectives on life and its possibilities.

I don’t have any specific preferences and I am willing to adapt to different family styles.Thank you for taking the time to read about my family and me. If you have any further questions or require additional information, please feel free to contact me.

Warm regards

Jhongyi
