Dear Host Family,

My name is João Gabriel, I am 15 years old but I’ll be 16 on July 17th 2024. I live in a city in the NorthEast Coast of Brazil with my father, my mother and my brother. My father’s name is Valêncio, my Mother’s name is Pollyana and my brother’s name is Pedro Henrique. We live in an appartment, it is confortable and well taken care by my mom (mostly, but we can help – I beleive it is not easy to deal with 3 men at home). Our city is very warm year round. there are many beautiful beaches and parks, places to bike, etc . It’s a nice city to practice outdoor activities. I can say we don’t have winter here.

Both my parents are Business person, my mother has a female clothing store, she loves fashion and styles and my father works selling medicine materials. My brother is 12 years old and he is my only brother. We study together in the same school and we love each other very much.

We have an open communication ate home. Before taking any important decision I talk to my parents to hear what they think about it and what is the best thing to do. My relationship with them is very strong and stresless, we always solve everything with conversations and I also respect them as much as they respect me too.

In addition to my family, I live with my dog, his name is Hulk and I walk with him everyday, I love him a lot. I also love all kinds of animals like dogs, birds, cats, horses.

I love going to P.E, I used to play soccer and swimming, unfortunately I don’t practice these sports nowadays because the schedule at school is very tight. So I go to the GYM more often than sports because the schedule there is more flexible. It’s one of my favorite things to do, but I still love other sports, especially soccer and I can play well.

I have many friends in Brazil, but my three closest friends are Bernardo, Alexandre and Enrique, they are always around, we go to each others’ house, chat, play video game, etc.

I have one friend attending High School in USA since Aug 2023 – he is always posting on social media his adventures, new friends, sports, homestay get togethers and it crossed my mind why not to try to live something like this? I talked to my parents and they gave me all support, so here I`m applying to this experirnce, I hope to learn more about US culture, make new friends, create new experiences and improve my English
