Dear future family,

I’m Julia, a girl of 15 years old, I live in a small town near the capital of Spain. I’m a responsible, hardworking, kind, and curious person, and I love meeting new people and learning about different cultures. I’m very excited about the opportunity to join your family and share this wonderful experience together!

Let me tell you a little more about my life. I live with my parents, my older brother, my younger sister, and our dog. We are a close and loving family, and I’m very lucky to have such a good relationship with all of them. We enjoy spending time together on weekends, whether it’s going out to have lunch at a restaurant, playing board games, or exploring new places. My town is a quiet and friendly place, and we live in a house of one floor. My grandmother also lives nearby, and I usually visit her once a week. I love spending time at her house, especially because I usually get to see my cousins there too!

The idea of this exchange program excites me because I see it as an incredible opportunity to grow personally and learn so much about the world. I’ve always been fascinated by American culture and traditions, and I’d love to experience what everyday life is like there. I’m also looking forward to going to school in another country, trying new activities, and becoming more independent. I’m excited about building a strong and special relationship with my host family, sharing meaningful moments with them, and creating lifelong memories. I’m also looking forward to meeting new people, making friends from different cultures, and exploring the unique experiences that come with living in another country.

A typical day in my life is quite busy, but I enjoy it! I go to a Catholic school with classes from 8:05 to 13:50 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and until 14:40 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. After school, I dedicate my afternoons to extracurricular activities. On Mondays and Wednesdays, I play basketball from 16:00 to 17:15, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I attend a debate club from 15:30 to 16:30. I also have some responsibilities at home, such as setting and clearing the table, keeping my room tidy, making my bed, and doing laundry. My weekends are more relaxed—I like spending time with friends, going out, or doing fun activities with my family, like visiting new places or playing board games at home.

I also have many hobbies. I love reading books, especially romantic and fantasy ones, listening to music, baking, and watching movies or TV series. Furthermore, I love playing basketball, it’s one of my favorite activities because it has allowed me to meet a lot of people, who now are my friends and I spend a great time playing it. I also enjoy spending time with my friends; we often hang out, talk, and explore new places together. I am also a person who loves small children, and I also love traveling, which is another passion of mine. In the future I would like to travel around the world and live in another country for some years.
