| Dear future host family, Hi, my name is Laura. I am so happy and excited to live this experience abroad. I hope you like my presentation! First of all, I would like to talk about my family. My mother’s name is Laura and she is a teacher in a primary school that is near my house. She loves teaching babies how to read and write because it is really important for their future. My father’s name is Manuel and he is an engineer, he constructs bridges and big buildings. He likes his job because the appearance of the city depends on him and his mates. I don’t have any brothers or sisters. However, I enjoy spending time with my parents. We always go out to have lunch together every Friday, and my favorite part of the weekend is when we lay on the sofa and watch horror films. Now, I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am 15 years old and I live in the south of Spain. I am in my third year of high school (grade 9). My favorite subjects are French and English because I love learning languages. I believe that languages are really important to communicate with others when you travel abroad. I have an English teacher that comes to my house. She has been my teacher since I was 12. She is the best teacher I have ever had and she helps me a lot. My effort and her classes make me improve my communication skills. I am empathetic and friendly with people, I love helping my friends and having a good time with them. Also, I am a talkative person when I am confident but I seem shy at first, I just need time to gain confidence. I am also a sportive person, because I enjoy doing different sports. In my free time I do different things, for example, playing volleyball and athleticism. I would like to have the opportunity to play in a sports team and have teammates in American High School. I usually go out with my friends and play in the swimming pool. I love watching action series on TV and going to the cinema to have fun and relax. My favorite food is soup because I love eating it when it’s cold in winter. I don’t like spinach and cauliflower but I love all types of fruits. Fruits are so fresh and tasty during summer. I love traveling and tasting new food. Each summer I go to a different city with my family. I am so excited and I am sure we are going to have unforgettable experiences. Of course, I am so enthusiastic about this experience. I think that studying abroad will make me more independent and responsible. I will learn a lot of English and new cultures. I will meet new people from all around the world and we can learn from ourselves. I want to experience American culture and traditions. I think I am an open-minded person because I want to try new food, meet new people and learn a new culture. This experience is definitely full of advantages for my present and my future. In conclusion, I am so grateful to live this incredible and unforgettable experience. I would like to say that it is an honor to have the chance to be part of your family and learn all about the American way of life.
